Your first dental visit

Your first dental visit many times includes data collection on your current dental health, dental x-rays, and in many but not all instances getting your teeth cleaned. While we try to accomplish all of these tasks we do not know the status of your oral health to make an absolute promise.  If it has been years since your last dental visit or you have had some type of gum treatment in the past… plan on “not” getting your teeth cleaned at this first visit. Simple teeth cleaning on patients with early to advanced gum disease most likely will need something more complex than a dental prophylaxis.

Dental Implants in Castle Pines

Dental implants are one way our Castle Pines dentist and you can choose to replace a missing tooth. Other options to a missing tooth include but are not limited to:

  • No treatment leave the missing tooth area
  • Removable dental appliance… a partial denture
  • A “fixed” dental bridge.  Crowns on either side of the space and a bridge (pontic) spaning the space
  • Dental implant

Dental implant smay need bone building especially on the upper jaw.  On occasion the maxillary sinus needs to be elevated in order to have sufficient bone in which to bury the dental implant.  In most of these instances this needs to be done by an oral surgeon, periodontist, or general dentist trained in this technique.
